Fireworks Championships

The world-famous British Firework Championships are once again returning to Plymouth's picturesque waterfront on Wednesday 18 and Thursday 19 August 2021.

Enjoy astounding pyrotechnics that will light up Plymouth as six of the best firework companies battle it out over this two-night event, with each team putting on an awe-inspiring ten-minute display in an attempt to be crowned the champion.

The display starts at 9:30 pm each evening. This is an extremely popular event so we advise early booking if visiting Plymouth this August.

Mayflower 400 Celebrations

A week of amazing activities in the home of the Mayflower. With an exclusive visit from the Matthew, a replica 15th-century tall ship, daily fly-by displays and The Royal Marines Rehabilitation Triathlon.

SailGP Plymouth

Plymouth has been selected to host SailGP’s Great Britain Grand Prix, arriving to our shores on July 17 and 18 for the third event of the season. The Great Britain Grand Prix | Plymouth will also form part of the city’s Mayflower 400 commemorations.


The Hatchling

The Hatchling, the largest ever puppet to be solely human-operated standing at over 6.5m tall. Once hatched in the form of a dragon will appear in Plymouth and roam through the city, exploring its new surroundings and interacting with the public.
